Amanda Bossard was just out of high school when she started her studies in marine biology at Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage. Bossard started her career as a commercial seafood worker in 1999. Bossard began working with the ship F/V Sunset which was a 65' halibut schooner that was turned into a Salmon tender, for Murat Aritan who worked in commercial fishing since 1993. Bossard has been engaged to Aritan and the couple has come together to prove their claim to the market. They are both in favor of conservative and profitable management of sustainable seafood resources. In 2007, the mother of two children Bella age 3 and Andre 1 Bossard before returning to her home in Philadelphia and opened an online direct market wholesale seafood distributor known as Otolith. She and her husband are separated by 5 months plus more to allow her to concentrate on her finances as well as environmental concerns. Bossard as well as Isabella Andre and Isabella Andre (ages 12 and 10 respectively) are back each year, beginning in July of 2016 in Southeast Alaska for the summer harvest of salmon wild. With a small 42 troller they are able to catch salmon by hooks. They then work with Aritan working in the local processing plant for two weeks.
